I am not sure who finds raw task distance that useful.

Tasks info:

Official scoring website: http://www.soaringspot.com/wgc20112/results

Tasks also appear on the tracking sites

http://www.tiptop.com/app/wgc (excellent site!)

And the contest organizers have also started posting the tasks to facebook. They and lots of teams (hello Australia) have been making great use of facebook.

OPEN CLASS: Official Start 2:04 cst, you can see them jousting for the
start gate; best on the "tiptop" Spot.
Seems all USA pilots with the exception of Dick Butler, will be
tracked today. Team live audio on their freq.http://www.liveatc.net/

"Assigned Task"? "Assigned Area Task?". As called this morning they are all racing tasks. Look at the official contest Soaring Spot results page I just gave.

Looks like Sebastian Kawa had a low save (50m). "Checkin' brands on cows" as some Texans say.

possible, also possible that the altitude reporting is off on the satellite trackers. Last week there was one day where we were sure that DB and a few others had had sub 200 meter saves but it was apparently a problem with the tracking system.

Way.Aero has him crossing 35 miles inside Mexico. Can't use any of the
3 sites I'm viewing to "watch" the race in real-time. Often you'll see
gliders stationary for 15-20min, then jump at Mach 2 to a forward
position. Where's the technology they had in New Zealand?
