Default TA, Hawke Tracking and the SSA

Just read Franks post on Soaring Cafe (yesterday's and today's) and sit here shaking my head. Following Frank's account of the story, the SSA gave the Spot tracking 'business' that he had developed with his partner to another party without even contacting Frank. Mark Hawkins and Frank had the business idea, got things started and provided a real service to the racing community only to be kicked in the groin by our own association?
I'd like for someone at the SSA with knowledge of the situation to comment and to try and remove the bad taste that this leaves with me and I expect with others. We are such a small group that relies on those who take initiative and create something useful. SSA, please give us right here on ras some answers, thanks.

Herb, J7
