Shortly before noon, I went to the kitchen and made lunch, then brought it
out to the living room and placed it on the coffee table. I always eat lunch in the living room so I can watch the reruns of Law & Order, one of my favorite shows. As I ate and watched Law & Order, from time to time I would turn my head and look out my living room window and watch the Blue Angels practice for the Chicago Air and Water Show, perhaps a mile and a half from where I was sitting. There are days when living on the Chicago Lakefront is worth every penny of the ridiculous rent I pay to live here. Today is definitely one of them... |

I'd have been riveted to the window.

of the ridiculous rent I pay to live here. Too bad the Blues (and all the other airshow acts) wouldn't boycott Chicago's big airshow. If these groups had stood behind Meigs last year by refusing to perform, the negative publicity and outcry from the public could have driven King Daley to either re-open Meigs -- or to resign. Now, alas, it's far too late. Enjoy. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

Unfortunately, it wouldn't have made any difference...
Maggie Daley wanted a park. Mayor Daley is pussy-whipped. Mayor Daley is also King. Maggie's got her damned park. Wonder if she's even set foot in it? Considering that the FAA just reduced the number of flight operations at
O'Hare because of congestion, Daley's constituents should be screaming about his closing a reliever airport. -- Bob (Chief Pilot, White Knuckle Airways) I don't have to like Bush and Cheney (Or Kerry, for that matter) to love America "Bill Denton" wrote in message ... Thank you! ""The experience I'm having now some four hours later, I still have a little bit of a headache,'' Williams said. "I think he got up to about Mach 6. The G forces against your body are just ... I'm sorry, I just don't have the words to adequately express the feeling of awe and the power and the skill of the pilot.'' Williams earned a badge of honor from his pilot, but it was nothing tangible like a gold star or pin-on wings. The fact that he didn't vomit while doing maneuvers at six times the speed of sound earned a thumbs-up" Happy Flying, Randy Wentzel PPSEL KSTS, Santa Rosa, CA |
