![]() Jon, Welcome to the Mooney club, alledgedly the fastest certified production single. They are also one of the strongest a/c about. A recent article in the UK Pilot magazine described it as the Porshe of the skies. I've only got about 40 - 50 hrs in them, but you get addicted to getting places in a reasonable time. Get the speeds right or go round. No exceptions. More than 80kts on finals? Treat yourself to another look at the airfield from downwind. If you do land fast you are exposed to the Mooney trilogy: 1. bounce 2. prop strike 3. departure from rwy to left during go round, due to P factor. I have just completed a Mooney proficiency course, which taught me a lot. Get in touch with Don at: he'll tell you when you should plan to get along to one and where. Happy flying Iain Perth, WA -- iain_hutchison ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted via OziPilots Online [ http://www.OziPilotsOnline.com.au ] - A website for Australian Pilots regardless of when, why, or what they fly - |
