Default Essendon Airspace Procedures

Hi guys, can anyone tell me what is required to obtain a clearance from
Essendon Tower to do an orbit around the Melbourne CBD. I trained in
the bush for my recent PPL, but I fly mostly from Moorabbin. What do I
need to request and do I need to have submitted a flight plan.
Thanks
Paul
