I have an old Magellan SkyStar GPS for which I'm trying to find newer database. The one installed is from '97! More importantly, I'm looking for a PC interface cable to play with. This unit is long discontinued, but does anyone know where I might find what I'm looking for? Perhaps someone would sell a used database update kit with cables? I don't fly with this unit anymore, but I am looking forward to playing with it. Thanks in advance. Rick |

Rick On the cable question: Magellan (Thales) claims to accept queries on its old units. Have you tried to get a pinout description from them, and maybe you can fashion your own cable. But you do have to register... https://www.magellangps.com/en/users/login.asp |

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll give it a shot ASAP. I used to play a lot with serial and parallel cables a lot back in the day. Thanks! Rick "Icebound" wrote in message t.cable.rogers.com... saying that the model has been discontinued altogether. I did mention pinout configuration with no luck. |
