The new wings and wheels does not carry the high strength tesa transfer tape (with brown backing, not the earlier version with orange backing) for applying mylar. Does anybody use another source?

How about something domestic like 3M VHB tape? Available is lots of configurations. I think they use that stuff to glue jets together, or Yugo's, or something like that.

Our club uses Tesa 4965. It's red colored when on the roll. Wings and Wheels used to sell it but the stuff they now show on the web, which is also red, may be something else repackaged. It doesn't appear to have the prominent Tesa labeling on the inside of the roll. I'd talk to them on the phone to confirm that it has the same or better adhesive properties as the Tesa 4965.. Especially in the sun.
The PVC safety tape they currently sell is labeled Tesa but doesn't show a product number. FWIW, the PVC safety tape we've been using is Tesa 4104. It's white. Larry Northern California Soaring Association |

Thanks! Paul Gaines 3M VHB comes in thinner flavors too, search 3M VHB transfer tape - here's one example: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...4274810&rt=rud |
