Flight Control Setup

New to this [or any] newsgroup. Have read all messages posted in search of
an answer to my quandry and found such a basic subject is not currently
covered.

I have been unable to get the Game Controller to recognize the brake pedals.
Rudder action is o.k. but neither left nor right brake responds to pedal
input.

Differential power [on twins] and rudder is no way to taxi!

Step by step flight control input procedure to resolve this impasse would be
appreciated.

Never had this problem with real world aircraft. If the brakes didn't work
maintenance corrected the problem.
