In aeronautics, lift occurs with an airplane because the shape of the
wings combined with forward movement causes air to pass faster over the top of the wing than the bottom of the wing. If this is an immutable law regarding lift, how then can an airplane fly upside down? ... Read more... |

If you hang a piece of plywood off the back of a pickup it will give you lots of lift! That said, aerobatic aircraft wings are sometimes symmetrical airfoils. t |

When upside down, you just have to increase the angle of attack. This will,
in itself, create faster flow over what is now the 'top' of the wing surface. -- Cheers, Quilly |
