A colleague today was describing a movie from "10-15 years ago", which included a guy in the belly turret of a
WWII bomber whose landing gear had been shot off. His harness is also stuck. Being an artist, he draws a drawing of the landing gear, and the the plane lands on the "animated" landing gear. Can anybody here ID this? Wizard of Draws maybe? ![]() -- Cheers, John Clonts Temple, Texas N7NZ |

![]() Not a theatrical motion picture, but an episode of Steven Spielberg's short-lived television series "Amazing Stories." Titled "The Mission," it was one of only two episodes actually directed by Spielberg. See http://www.spielbergfilms.com/amazin...esmission.html Original air date November 3, 1985, so almost 20 years ago. The Internet knows all.... |

I see that the answer is 'The Mission'. I saw it, but for some reason,
I keep thinking it is, 'Memphis Belle.' Flyingmonk |

Definitely not "Memphis Belle", but it does have a scene where the ball-turret gets shot off the airplane and the gunner is just handing by his safety strap. And there is the obligatory drama of manually cranking down the gear just in time to land. -- Bob Noel no one likes an educated mule |

Also, it was interesting to read that Col Morgan flew in the Pacific too ... lost a B29 off Kwajelen. Jay B |
