![]() In addition to Garmin's recent delay of the WAAS upgrade to the 430/530 line, they've also required that we sign up for the upgrade by November of this year to get the previously announced $1500 price for the upgrade. This is presented at: http://www.garmin.com/aviation/430_530_waas_update.html But in my discussions with Garmin from a while back, about which I posted in: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...e?dmode=source I learned that full use of the GDL-69 is expected after the WAAS uprade. I gathered that this was because the current 430/530 hardware cannot handle the all of the 69's data for performance reasons, but I didn't bother to confirm this. So...does anyone know of the schedule for the 430/530's support for all of the GDL-69's functionality? I presume that it too has been delayed, but... I'm also curious: (Uncertified) terrain support has been released for the 430, yes? The signup referred to in the Garmin press release appears to be no serious commitment. Is there any reason to not sign up for it? Does the signup commit one to a particular avionics dealer? Thanks... - Andrew |
