CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- The Cook County Republican Party is
offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an indictment
and conviction of Mayor Richard M. Daley, whose administration has
been buffeted by scandal.

This is the first GOP act that I can unanimously support. I hope it
starts a trend of offering bounties on unscrupulous politicians.

I wonder what the current status is on the FAA's investigation into
Daley's failure to provide the required notice before closing Meigs
field?

Perhaps we should have this hanging over *all* politicians, so as to avoid
having any unscrupulous politicians.

But I'm dreaming, I know....

You'd be happy to know here in TN they arrested 5 state legislators, I
believe 4 were Dems and 1 was republican...for taking pay offs of some kind.
We'll find out alot more when they go to trial. One of them was kin to
Harold Ford who wants to run for Senate next time. think it was his Uncle?
Charles Walker, Democrat in Augusta GA was also indicted and convicted
of several charges . Maybe these folks will start walking the line...but I
doubt it. Heck people in Georgia voted that idiot Cynthia McKinney back into
office. SAD SAD SAD

Saw on the news just yesterday about the woes of San Diego. The mayor
has resigned, the guy about to take his palce was convicted, and two
city council seats are vacant as well due to convictions. Something to
do with taking bribes from local strip clubs to get the laws changed
to allow the dancers to touch the customers. Apparently San Diego is
now looking for it's fourth mayor in a year.

I like the idea from, I think it was Brewster Millions?, of "vote for
none of the above". There should be a checkbox on all ballots for "
non of the above" that gets tallied and reported. It may not count
towards anyone getting into office but it would certainly show the
lack of confidence people have in those running for and holding office.

If not, they should. Why don't you contact them and suggest it:
http://www.cookrepublicans.com/

The $10,000 reward is part of a larger effort by the Cook County
Republican Party to expose political corruption. In February, the
Party announced its 312-WHISTLE hotline and website
(www.312WHISTLE.com), providing an outlet for staffers to leave
anonymous tips about corruption at City Hall. Kohn confirmed that
the hotline has yielded numerous tips that are currently being
investigated. The 312-WHISTLE hotline is open to accept tips about
Mayor Daley.

I generally don't trust career politicians. I'd much rather trust
people who had 'normal' jobs (what is "normal" anyways?) before
their life as a politician.....even if it is a football or baseball
player or actor (no, I'm not necessarily endorsing Arnold) and those
are not "normal" jobs by any stretch of the imagination.

Anyone know where I can make a contribution to increase the reward?
