Default Soaring.aero

I have started this thread to keep the soaring community informed of
soaring.aero developments.

I have been asked:

What is the purpose of soaring.aero?
The purpose of soaring.aero is to promote the sport of soaring.
While there are many soaring sites out there, many of them excellent, I
think there is room for one more. I hope to emulate the best of these
sites.

Why did you make soaring.aero "live" in such an unfinished state?
Soaring.aero, a "Work In Progress", is a website for the community
so why not seek the involvement of the community in the site
development stage. My hope is that some of you will share your opinions
on what you would want or not want from soaring.aero via the
soaring.aero forum. If you prefer, you can email me directly: webmaster
at soaring dot aero.

How will soaring.aero be different from other soaring sites?
Soaring.aero will be powered by a cms(content management system)
that will allow for very dynamic content. What this means is
soaring.aero members will be able to author and submit items such as
web links, news(club announcements, FBO announcements, contest stuff,
etc.), calendar events, articles and a few other things.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.

Note: I have used soaring.aero in this post to help improve how
soaring.aero gets indexed. Google does not like the aero domain.
Hopefully someone from Google is reading this so searching soaring.aero
in Google will return a result.
