Pancake breakfast at 3BS this Saturday

If you're in the area, stop in for EAA Chapter 1093's pancake
breakfast. This Satrurday (May 6) 7:00 To 11:00 AM in the hangar
section of EAA Chapter 1093's Education Center at Midland Barstow
Airport (3BS). 11.3 on the 317 degree radial of MBS 112.6 The
chapter building is just east of the south end of 18/36.

We have a number of home builts on the field from ultralights, Sonex,
LongEz, RV6A, RV4, and a number of others under construction.

Adult breakfast $6.00

BTW, the forecast is for 55 to 60 and partly sunny. Winds NW 5 to 15.

As usual I'll purchase breakfast for the first 5 pilots/passengers who
refer to this post.

Thanks. We have a new manager and I hear rumors the city is looking
into getting larger fuel tanks so they can take a full truck load at a
time and save a bunch (and become competitive)

We had a pretty good turn out with a beautiful clear day and unlimited
visibility, but it was COLD until nearly 10:00 AM. Winds were light
out of the N to NNW.

Lots of pancakes, sausage, coffee, juice, and various forms of eggs
were served. The place was busy right up until 11:00 and I think they
kept serving until around 11:30. Just after the last of the traffic
rush out a Citation came in.

I'm still not sure why almost every one wanted to land on 06 into the
sun. OTOH I was really surprised at how many came in way faster than
they needed to and I do mean faster. I'd guess at least 10% used more
than half of 06/24 which is 3800 feet long. A number of those used
that much to set down. That made the ones flying " the book numbers"
really stand out with their relatively short landings and roll outs.
It seems strange to see a Glasair Super II land in about half the
distance the 172 and Cherokee 140 ahead used. Unlike P-ville we didn't
have any one out grading landings.:-))

On even kept the speed up in taxi and "bounced" when he pulled off the
sod parking onto the taxiway. Sure hope he learned the reason for
slow taxi in those instances (particularly with little prop clearance)
as I don't think that prop was originally a "Q-Tip".

I haven't heard if any one turned up from the news groups so I don't
know if I own them any money yet.

At any rate, a good time was had by almost all.

Me? I came home well fed and slept most of the afternoon.

It was in the original post and several there after.
However 3BS is Barstow Airport, located at Midland Michigan. 11.3 on
the 317 radial out of MBS - 112.9) (MBS being centrally located
between Midland, Bay City and Saginaw.

No that is the *low* preisthood of wannabes pretending to be
"professional" -- sort of like those who drag a C152 in from three miles
out, pretending to fly like airline folks in a "stabilized" approach.
