Default Region 8 Contest

I see there are only 12 signed up to fly in Region 8, too bad, it is a
great place to fly!! I have driven 750 miles for the past several
years, hope the "locals" will support their own.

Come on gang, help out the contest organizers and get your
registrations in. You know you are going so judt "do it". Gary, two
of us from Idaho are going and our combined milage is 750 miles each
way. Does that count for anything?

Thanks for the support guys.

We actually do have a few more folks signed up but we are having
problems with our server folks and I have been unable to update the
list of registrants for some 3 weeks now.

It is looking as though we will have a competition for all three
classes - Open, 15 Meter and Sport though the field is still not as
large as we could wish. For those who watch RAS and are planning on
flying with us this year - letting us know would be appreciated!

Hi fellow region 8-ers

As for mileage to attend the contest..
This Alaskan rookie will be doing a first contest with
a 'Russia'
Can I get some extra handicap for 'attendance mileage'?

Absolutely! Mileage is applied according to a formula no more
complicated than a Sports Class point calculation on a 3 hour MAT task,
where the winner comes in 30 minutes under time, 50% of field lands out,
and you get back, but cross the finish line in the wrong direction.
Here's the basics:

* Miles flown in the Russia getting to the contest are added to your
score after multiplying by your handicap
* Miles the Russia does in the trailer on the way to the contest are
added to your score - no handicapping
* Miles you fly commercially on the way to the contest are subtracted
from your score - no handicapping

All this addition and subtraction is applied to your score on the first
practice day. After that, you are on your own 8^).

Eric,

I understand the word 'applied' means multiplied by
the zero contest point
practice day score, and the product, carries into the
contest : )

These rules are somethin aren't they!!
