Hi All!
OK.. our supplier offered to send us both, try for up to 30 days, send back the one you don't want! Well... they both arrived yesterday.. Both - obviously very high quality.. Both with good cases.. Bose, more detailed manual.. DC, - good but brief.. DC - cell phone input that REALLY works nice, music input that auto mutes. Both comfortable, the same weight, DC has 1 extra articulation point that allows it to fold very compactly, and the headband distributes pressure better. DC appears more rugged, articulated joints are (appear) stronger.. For my head, I would give the comfort edge to the DC.. Not sure about the value of the "FREE" music system offered with the Bose. I sure don't need it, and it is not a terribly impressive unit.... ...and there is no way to use it with the headset.. so why... ? So now we are going to "fly" them... Chapter 2 when I get the 1st impressions from my partner, chapter 3 after we fly them.... Cheers! Dave |

Dave,
;-) So really, what are your thoughts on the colour? For me, the green (some call it "hospital", others call it "vomit") would be THE overarching factor never to get one. What do you think? -- Thomas Borchert (EDDH) |

What do you think? I've owned three headsets. The first I bought was a DC 13.4. Served me for many years and many 100's of hours, and is still in essentially as good shape as the day I bought it. The next was a Sigtronics piece of **** I bought for a low price for use once in a while by pax. It was a total waste of even the small amount of money I paid for it. Build quality just plains sucks. The third was a (very expensive) Telex ANR set that I'm using now. I really regret having fallen for the Telex marketing. I've only been using it for about 3 years now and it's already been back to the factory twice for repairs. The warranty is now up and I dread what's going to happen the next time it breaks. Every time I change the batteries, I look at the ****ty plastic door on the battery compartment as I force it closed and cringe, knowing that one day it's going to break off in my hand, and Telex will probably charge me big bucks to fix it. Green may be ugly, but it's a beautiful kind of ugly. |

Love the "green"!
All the "real" pilots wore green - long before I became one! "Green" means "almost bulletproof", and means that it may work well for 20 years, or until I get tired of it, or something better/newer comes along, what ever happens first! My old "green" ones are still working as well as the day I got them.. I can't see the colour when I have them on! ![]() Cheers!
