Default Garmin GPSmap 496 in simulator mode?

Hi guys,

first of all: Happy Newyear!

I have a quick question on the Garmin GPSmap 496 (,which I bought about
a month ago). Is there a way to simulate a route? I know it works in
automotive mode but (if it's there) I could not find it in aviation
mode :-(

I thought, as a student pilot, it might be good to be able to simulate
an entered route if there is a way to give an average speed and
altitude range in which you fly.

thanks in advance for your feedback,

Jef
