Anybody know the status of Alton Bay? I'm kind of assuming no runway so far
this year. Can't find their site for this year.

I'm not to sure there is any ice on Winnipesaukee, let alone a runway, this
year.

I figure the lake must be open water too. The bay might have a skin on it,
but who knows? I can't find anything current on it.

I found this:

http://ossipeeaviation.com/alton-bay-ice.html

UPDATE 1-12-06 from Glen: We are waiting for cold enough weather to freeze
the bay enough to open the runway. As soon as we can we will open the
airport for the winter, but mother nature is not co-operating at this time.
We have reports of 8 inches in spots, but that's not enough for me to get
the truck out there. We will need the temps to get sub-zero for at least a
couple nights and some colder weather during the day for the ice to become
safe.

I found a blog with pictures that may have been taken on 1/21. They showed
open water.

I found a web site with pictures from a couple of years ago, and my plane is
in it.
