I think I remember a posting which described a sailplane hangar for two
sailplanes that were were stored side by side. There was a door on one end of the hangar and each sailplane was put on a dolly and pushed into and out of the hangar. Any info or web links to this site would be appreciated. "2BK" |

Bob,
There was an article sometime last year in Soaring about this. Go to Google and search for "sidewiser" and you'll turn up that article, as well as a commercial company that makes these hangers. Once you read the Soaring article, you will see that most any hangar of the right size could be set up that way pretty easily. Good luck, Ed On Jan 25, 9:10 pm, "Bob Kibby" wrote: I think I remember a posting which described a sailplane hangar for two sailplanes that were were stored side by side. You could check with folks at Soaring Club of Houston. When I was there 7
years ago we used two or three such setups. Basically, we had two tracks for belly and tail dollies. Gliders were stored facing opposite sides of the hangar, with center wings up over the other glider (I think). Obviously, you want to be careful on extraction, but custom dollies with smooth action gave you quite a bit of control. "Red EX" "Bob Kibby" wrote in message ... Here's an interesting T-Hanger design for gliders that seems to be an
extremely efficient use of space, but permits each glider to be accessed without moving any other gliders: http://www.scottishglidingcentre.co....os_3.htm#entry http://www.scottishglidingcentre.co....4_05270008.jpg Mike Schumann "Bob Kibby" wrote in message ...
