Probably because there is so much scamming by European buyers. I'll
bet if an interested party across the pond emails the seller directly stating he will pay cash (check or M/O) along with the proper shipping charges, and is willing to allow the check to clear prior to shipment, there would be no problem. because it is the default shipping area in the ebay from.

I got much more scams from the US and other areas of the world.
