SSA scholarship news (USA)

"Cadet" pre-solo scholarship grants were awarded to Karl Parsons (Mile
High Gliding, CO) and Conor MacJarrett (Adirondack SC, NY). We wish we
had had more applications, as the Cadet fund has capacity for more
learn-to-fly grants. Ian Cangero of Adirondack SC was our Bultman
award exemplary line-crew. Contest Entry matching fund grants went to
Kevin Christner (CCSC, OH) and Corey Sullivan (HHSC, NY).
Congratulations to all.

September 30 is the annual application deadline for the Kolstad
college scholarship, in which minimum eligibility for a US Citizen SSA
member up through age 20 is an FAI Silver badge or an SSA Kolstad
Century I (100km). We look forward to finding a number of application
packages at the SSA Office, which need to include an applicant
narrative and nomination letters from Club/FBO sponsors. See
