Default Light Sport Aircraft as Tow Plane

I have heard that someone in the US is using a Flight Design CTSW
Light Sport Airplane as a tow plane. I would like to know where this
is happening and performance history.

I ran some calculations on an SLA tug but I can't find them right now.
IIRC, a 1320 Lb GW, high L/D airframe (Like a 25:1 touring motorglider)
would need about 135HP to match a 235HP Pawnee. That's partly due to the
need for acceleration to aileron control speed.

Interestingly, an SLA tug is a natural for a 100HP ducted fan that would
provide more static thrust while making less noise.

Check out this project, I think it matches LSA specs, available as
plans or maybe a kit.

Not quite in the US, but we are using Evektor Sportstar (Tocumwal) and
Jabiru J230C (WA) in Australia for towing at the moment.
The South Africans are using the Samba XXL I believe from high altitude
airports.
Towing is available for Tecnam, CTSW, Texan along with any other LSA
aircraft that feel they can handle it.
