LX 5000 - Invalid IGC File

Good afternoon,
I have a LX 5000 version 11.1. During my last 6 flights, I have
been getting an invalid IGC file when I download to OLC. During
the power up of the LX5000, I keep getting the following WARNING,
SECRET KEY NOT VALID! PRESS ENTER TO QUIT!
When I was in Moriarty last week, a couple members from the
ABQ Soaring Club confirm that my IGC file was corrupted.

I am using SeeYou Moble 7.2 version and download my WP and
task through my PDA.

I have email this question to LX and am waiting for an answer.
Does anyone have a solution to this question?

Hi Randy,

I was getting the same error message last year on my LX7007 after
returning home from the AirSailing XC Camp.

I contacted LX and they emailed me a reset code that I entered into a
setup screen. That fixed the problem and I haven't had it return
since. I don't know if the code will work on the LX5000 but if you
want to try email me via the 304CZ board and I will send it to you.

Your internal battery has quit - too long without external power is a common cause.

Unfortunately this means your LX will record a file, but it will be invalid for
record or badge flights. Only solution is to get your friendly LX service agent
to replace it and reset the software seal - the failure mode is to assume the
enclosure has been tampered with. It only takes 20 minutes to do, but can mean a
2 week round trip to Slovenia depending on where you are when this happens.

If at a loss contact LXnavigation.si directly - they are very helpful.

I can re-seal it for you if necessary. It does sound to me like it will be
necessary. You would need to send it to me. I charge $30 plus the cost of
the return shipping.
