![]() "Bruce R" wrote in message ... Nice series. Good to see him doing something like this for the kids. Thanks to all who do it. Bruce I know how much of an impact getting a ride in an airplane at a young age can make on a person. I had a 6th grade teacher that used aviation for part of our science instruction and finished the subject off with rides. It resulted in a life-long love for aviation and a 20 year career in the Navy as an aircrewman. If 1% of those kids catch the bug like I did, it'll be worth the effort the Young Eagle program participants put into it. Rob |

Back in '64 a friend of my father who owned a Piper Comanche at Payar
Lebar, Singapore (when it was a really little airport) offered me a flight with him after noticing this shy kid day after day hanging around the airfield fence watching the flights coming and going. My mother said "No!" but you know what kids are like. In the end I sneaked on a flight with him over Singapore City and I was hooked for life.Just like you, except in my case it was a career in the RAF. That was 44 years ago and I'm still hooked! My mother is still almost as scared of flying now as she was when she forbade me to go, but she'll come flying with me. :-) Result!! andy On Thu, 17 Apr 2008 09:33:04 -0400, "Scubabix" wrote: "Bruce R" wrote in message .. .
