It is 11:24am EST (1624z) and range clearance activities have begun in
preparation for today's Titan 4 launch. Weather One arrived from Orlando, entered the Restricted Zone at the Cape a short while ago and has been transmitting cloud conditions to Range Weather on the ground. JOLLY 1, an HH-60G, launched from Patrick AFB and is also flying over the Cape area. Likewise PATROL 1, and FAA security acft, departed Patrick for the Cape area. Both of these acft are in contact with Cape Control on 133.8 now. USCG freqs are also alive with launch-related comms, including 156.8, 157.1, and 157.175. Cape Security is advising personnel of the acft via 173.6875. A short while ago, SAM 7010 arrived at Cape Canaveral AFS; this could be related to the launch, or perhaps related to POTUS arrival tomorrow for the Daytona 500 race. If you are within range, my freq site, shown below, will give you some of the best freqs to tune to. AL STERN Satellite Beach FL (28-11N 80-36W) monitoring Patrick AFB (KCOF) NASA-KSC Shuttle Landing Facility (KX68) Avon Park Bombing Range (KAGR) Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (KXMR) JSTARS E-8 Acft Integration Facility, Melbourne IAP (KMLB) Worldwide Military HF Communications Life Member: Missile, Space and Range Pioneers. http://hometown.aol.com/allanstern/m...age/index.html (My Freqs) http://hometown.aol.com/scanaddict/index.html (My Equipment) |
