Default A "god" of Soaring

For SSA members, we can now see one of the "gods" of soaring that we
worship.

http://ssa.org/sport/PhotoGalleryDet...Pho toId=4636

I don't know if non-SSA members can access this photo. But it is
definitely one worth committing to memory and calling upon during
times of stress...

Too bad we don't have a photo of "The goddess" of soaring in Sports
Class at Region 5 East, Bermuda High, South Carolina, USA, I believe
Sarah is the winner.

Congratulations to Sarah!!!!

Since the only Libelle flying in the Region 5 East belongs to Wally
Berry, I guess the pilot (god) is Wally Berry. And since the photo is
courtesy of Wally Berry, I would venture a guess that his wife snapped
the photo.

Actually, it looks like me in the cockpit... but since I have never been
in a Libelle, I doubt it. Who photoshop'ed me into that thing!

That's a German registration under the wing. So I don't think it's
Wally.

So are we all now left wondering if the revalation of a God was
actaully misleading?

The Photo is of Wally Berry flying his Libelle in the Region 5 East
Contest. It was very hard on him being beat by a girl. Although he
did have the high score bowling on a rain day. The picture caption
helped him work through some self esteem problems which seem to be
all better now.

Scott hit the nail on the head. I was nearly suicidal on the first day
after Sarah came round and handed me the tattered remains of my rear end
on a platter. Egads!

A short while, and a few drinks later, some dear soul pointed out that
Sarah had actually beaten nearly the entire 18m/15m/Standard Class
contingent, not just on her handicapped speed, but, on RAW speed! At
least I could cry into my beer in good company.
