Does anyone know when the use of PT-13/17 Stearman's was phased out by the US armed services? Any ideas which training base used them last? TIA don |

Does anyone know when the use of PT-13/17 Stearman's was phased out by the US
armed services? Any ideas which training base used them last? From an old Peter Bowers column recently rerun in a Pacific coast based aviation newspaper he states that the last US Army/Air Force Stearmans were withdrawn in 1948. He doesn't state what units or uses they were being used for. The last USN N3N's were not withdrawn till 1961! John Dupre' |
