About a week ago, George Applebay had an accident while working in the
Library at the US Southwest Soaring Museum. He and a book case tangled and George ended up with some broken bones and a good bump on the head. He has been moved from the hospital to a Rehab Center. He is currently at: Albuquerque Heights Healthcare and Rehab Center Room 104 103 Hospital Loop NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 505-348-8300 A get well card, wishes for a Merry Christmas, or just some notes from friends would be much appreciated, as he will likely be in the rehab facility for a while. At 84 years of age, you just don't heal as quickly as you did when you were younger. I have not spoken with him, but I understand he is doing well but is being given a fair amount of medication to control the pain from the broken bones and surgery. Cards and letters would probably be best for now. Steve Leonard Wichita, KS |

Steve Leonard Wichita, KS Thanks for posting this Steve. I hear he's facing four months of therapy and hope it all goes well. For those with projects at Applebay Aviation, I'm told George's son Darren is an IA and has been working with George since summer. Frank Whiteley |
