The South is Red - index.jpg (1/1) [27K]
Some scavenged pictures of helicopters supporting the Chinese Arctic and Antarctic Administration's scientific research in Antarctica. Their current expedition (November 2009-April 2010) will prepare a land cover map of the continent The Ka-32 helicopter shown is named 'Snow Eagle' and it operates from the 'Snow Dragon', a converted ice-breaker. The Ka-32 is a civil version of the Ka-27 Helix.
