Does anyone know the status of the operation at Mountain valley? The
website is down or missing for some time now..

There is still plenty of flying at Mountain Valley! The website has
been down for some time I guess - at lease since I arrive in town 1.5
years ago; Jane and Larry are still operating and can be reached at
(661) 822-5267.

There is an active Yahoo Group - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tehachapisoaring/
for the local pilots that you may consider joining.

You can also check out the link below for a map of the house thermal
and more about flying the Sierras.

Thanks for the link - never would have thought to look there. Great
idea for a group for a soaring area as opposite to a club or a site -
Might want to start one for mine. I do use the following webpage for
