Thanks for posting this clipping along with the colour picture. It's
really not good for my blood pressure whenever someone repeats the urban
legend about the jealous girlfriend and the chainsaw.

As if any woman could use a chainsaw with that amount of precision...

We do indeed - it's produced by an Australian company for the Discovery
network.

I actually saw that episode and Jamie proved that it was _plausible_ to cut
through a fuselage with a chainsaw - AIR his chainsaw cuts were much more
uniform than Adam's. That's a fair distance away from proving that's
what actually happened.

I'm not sure what "DSSS" means, but I assume it's an abbreviation for "Keep
taking the tablets"

This incident happened about 35km from my home and I posted the original
pics, local news footage and newspaper clippings (including this one), on
the same day they appeared in my local fish wrapper.

Yet, on this very forum, the same legend still surfaces - _repeatedly_ -
every few months, as someone else finds the picture and posts it with the
silly, made-up story.

It's not the first time this type of accident has happened. Prop damage is
distinctive and you'd imagine that those interested in aviation would
recognise Occam's razor marks.

That vein is popping out again, time for another tablet.

And I saved it with a file name that gives you credit. Hope you don't mind.

Thanks - I'm surprised that it was so long ago, time's fun when you're
having flies.

I should also point out that I'm not after the credit for "the truth", or
the original story or whatever. I just got tired of posting the same
corrections _every_ time this furfy appeared.

The last few times, I just let it go, (and no, I don't know why I brought it
up this time).

I understand completely. I too am tired of some of the urban legends that
just refuse to die after many years.

I find it very interesting that I chose to save the file with that file name
and that I found it again after these many years!

Thank you for your many interesting posts - keep up the awesome work!
