Now that Costello has announced that for purposes of being covered by
insurance, clubs can make their own determination for experience requirements for tow pilots, I wonder what some of you are looking at doing. As I understand it, the old basic insurance requirement was 500 hrs PIC and 100 hrs tailwheel to be automatically covered, or for a named pilot 200 hrs PIC and a tailwheel endorsement (plus the usual training flights, etc.) 61.69 requires 100 PIC in category and class, so that would be the minimum. I noticed that quite a few clubs require 500 hrs PIC and 100 hrs tailwheel. Now that the insurance requirements have been changed, will you be keeping these requirements as they are or will you be modifying them? Bruce |
