Historic Helsinki-Malmi Airport in trouble - please read

The historic Helsinki-Malmi Airport in Finland (EFHF) is in trouble.
Local decision-makers are making every effort to close down the unique
old airport and to turn it into a suburb. Democracy-wise, their
methods are not far from what was done to Meigs Field in Chicago.

International Petition to Save Helsinki-Malmi Airport there. Spread

Malmi Airport is a uniquely well-preserved pre-WWII international
airport in the world, the second-busiest airport in Finland by
take-offs and landings and by far the most important Finnish general
aviation airfield, educating 2/3 of all professional pilots in the
country. The 1930's aviation milieu with the original runways and
buildings is superbly authentic. The Airport has been selected to
DoCoMoMo's list of significant sites of modern architecture as well as
the List of 100 Most Endangered Cultural Sites by World Monuments
Fund, indicating strongly that this airport is living cultural
heritage of international importance.
