The CHT probes are on the two rear cylinders run about 450F degrees on left and 400F on right on takeoff with 100 mph climb out and 400F left and 375F right at cruise. This differential still looks like a problem with the baffles. It doesn't take much of a hole to really mess up the cooling (been there, done that). But you say you have new cyl's. What's the oil consumption like (and what oil are you using now)? |

I cannot seem to control the high CHTs on my 1958 C175 with a Continental
GO300 engine. The CHT probes are on the two rear cylinders run about 450F degrees on left and 400F on right on takeoff with 100 mph climb out and 400F left and 375F right at cruise. When I purchased the aircraft it had just had all new cylinders put on but the baffle seals where bad so I put on new baffling seals and installed a Airwolf remote oil filter before I flew it. I now have about 50Hr on the cylinders and 3 oil and filter changes but temps are still high. Does anyone out there have a solution for this problem or know someone I could talk to that knows Continental GO300 engines. |
