Hello,
i need to install bug wipers on a Nimbus 3 (single seat, but the 3D shares the same wing geometry except for some foward sweep) and would be most grateful if anybody could share some experience on whether the retrieval cable (the one that pulls the bug wiper back towards the fuselage) should be on top or below the wing. Generally these go below the wing but i have been told that on some open class ships it would be better to have them on top of the wing since the risk of the cable getting stuck on the corner of some aileron or flap should be lower. The reason for this might be that due to lots of wing bending the cable tends to "fly" above the wing rather than being pulled against the lower surface. Any input ? Thanks Martin |
