See attached link about the Twin Comanche they are giving away.
Sounds like the engines were toast when they bought the plane. I know they plan on replacing/overhauling the engines, but this kind of stuff is indicative of a REALLY bad condition plane. http://www.aopa.org/pilot/twin/040108commentary.html -Nathan |

True but if I were looking for an airplane and planned to replace the
engines right away, I would be focused on the part of the airplane that I was keeping, not the part that I was going to replace as soon as I got it home. Mike MU-2 "Nathan Young" wrote in message ... It's not uncommon for a new set of engines to cost more than the plane would be worth once the engines are installed. Some people just sell the plane at that point and go buy another. AOPA has certainly done comprehensive pre-buys on all the other aircraft they fixed up. From the photo, it sure looks like a clean airplane. Definitely, I agree... Although my experience indicates that if an
owner doesn't keep the engine/prop combo in good shape the rest of the plane is going to be in bad shape too. True but they are are reskinning many of the surfaces, replacing engines and
props, new paint and interior, new avionics so they are replacing almost everything. I guess that if you are replacing everything, the only thing that matters is getting a low purchase price.
