Piper will be happy to sell you a locking cap for around $700+ (if they have it in stock), but that is the only option. No one else has an STC or PMA on that part. John Galban=====N4BQ (PA28-180) |

I wonder what kind of testing is necessary to get an STC for a gas cap? What a profit opportunity for someone! Heck, charge "only" $200 per cap, pocket $180, and sell a few hundred of 'em... -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

One option might be to find a replacement locking auto cap that fits, use that when your plane is tied down, and
then put the stock caps on for flight. The only purpose for the locks is to keep vandals and thieves out of your tanks when you aren't there. Of course, a locking gas cap does not stop someone from using the quick drains. John Galban wrote: "J-@-ck" wrote in message ...
