Glider Pilot Safety Seminar and FIRC
November 12-13 at Minden, Nevada Holiday Inn Express. Sponsored by Soaring NV. The primary goal of this two-day event is to help you be a better, safer pilot, and a better, safer flight instructor. This seminar specifically targets flight safety issues, reviewing the many important every day flying activities all glider pilots encounter. Aerotow emergencies, landing procedures, stalls, use of checklists, collision avoidance, decision making, and many other topics will be covered. And it is not all safety. Practical matters such as thermalling, glider assembly, preflight inspections, using the airspace, and many other issues will also be covered. Flight instructors will receive a certificate to renew their rating with the FAA. The two-day course will be presented by well known author, and flight instructor, Tom Knauff, who, with his wife, Doris Grove have operated a very successful glider school in Pennsylvania, with an outstanding safety record. To register, contact Laurie Harden by phone (775) 782 9595 or email: , or on line at www.eglider.org. The event is $150 and will be held at the Holiday Inn Express, Minden, Nevada who are cooperating with a special room rate. Tom Knauff |

There is a schedule conflict though with the annual PASCO gathering, which is calendared for 11/12 in San Carlos. That event likely will draw many of the Bay area glider pilots who might be interested in attending your program. |

I was not aware of the other event. I will be making a major presentation at the National Driver Training Association convention in San Francisco on November 11. Tom |

The long-running PASCO annual saftey seminar also often attracts pilots from the Reno area as well, so this is a really unfortunate conflict.
