Sure you do!
I'd like to compile a resource of glider/motorglider selling tips for all to share on my website: GliderSource.com. This will be a companion to the well received Glider Buying Tips also located there. http://glidersource.com/buyingaglider.shtml Authors will get credit (unless otherwise specified) and can link to a page of their choice if appropriate. I would like to host all the content on the site so that links remain valid. Feel free to provide content in any form you're willing to provide: loose text note, pdf document, link to article, even a video. Include any links that you also will be helpful to the seller. (a similar list of useful links is published on the Glider Buying Tips page) Thanks in advance, Bill Palmer |

My tip would be to list it on Wings and Wheels.

Easy - Reduce the price.

Certainly, where to list, what to include in the listing and how to set the price would be included in the offerings.
The objective is to collect a genuinely useful collection of information and advice freely available to all (i.e., not to copyright it or make some shameless plug.) So, how do you set the price? It's hard to determine what certain models have sold for. What resources are available? |

Here are some points I look for (non-motorglider) in no particular
order; - Create a web site with all the details! Even http://flickr.com will do. - Multiple pictures at every angle, inside and out. - List of the instrumentation/avionics/battery(ies). - If recorder included when last certified. - Date of last annual. If out of annual then explain why. - Age of glider - Total hours - Accident history if any (if it is on NTSB you really need to explain what/how) - Tail number - List any defects - you don't want someone showing up and then leave right away wasting everyone's time. - Rate the finish 1 to 10. Mention the type of finish (people will assume gelcoat) - Provide a link to the Sailplane Directory for this glider - List the glider specifications (L/D, etc) - Details of the trailer, brand, age, etc. If homebuilt add even more details. - List accessories or spare parts that come with the glider (self rigger, parachute, tire/tube, etc). - ADs should be complied with so mention it. - Anything special about the glider (win a contest, reprofiled wings, airbrake warning, custom stuff, winglets, etc) - Price being asked. I dislike reading about a glider and there is no price. - Email and phone number |

Hello
Be ready for Scam: you will most likely be receiving emails from "an honourable gentleman" who is interested in your "product", would like to have more information, pictures, and would like to know your best price. He will then be telling you that he's buying, and that his personal assistant will take delivery. As it happens, he owes is PA some fair amount cash ! And will therefore be transferring more than the agreed price to your account via some dubious banking service, asking you to transfer back some amount to his PA.. He will of course not be answering such basic questions as "where do you fly from, what sort of glider have you flown before, how is the weather like in our area,...." Anyway...to make a long story short...beware of scam ! Hope this helps. Regards, Ludovic -- Ludovic |

Here is a good synopsis of an airplane scam.
http://www.pprune.org/dg-p-general-a...-aircraft.html Wings and Wheels also alerts everyone with some examples. Something Glider Source should also mention in BIG BOLD LETTERS! |
