The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) has accepted the bid
of the National Aeronautic Association and the Soaring Society of America to hold a Continental Gliding Championships in the United States in 2014. The Championships will take place at the Chilhowee Gliderport in eastern Tennessee in late August, 2014. The competition will be held in a single class, the International Club Class. While FAI Continental Gliding Championships have taken place in Europe and South America, this will be the first Continental Championships to which pilots from both North and South America will be invited. The details of pilot entry requirements and Local Procedures will be available in due course. For further information, contact Sarah Arnold FAI, founded in 1905, is the World Air Sports Federation. It is an international organization with the basic aim of furthering aeronautical and astronautical activities worldwide, ratifying world and continental records and coordinating the organization of international competitions.
