Looking for suggestions form folks who have previously flown from Bend, OR
to OSH. Thinking about diverting a bit through the snake river canyon and planning on making it a two day/one night trip should the weather not mess with us. Any suggestions for good places to stay the night about halfway? Any spots to avoid? Thanks. -- Jack Allison PP-ASEL "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return" - Leonardo Da Vinci (Remove the obvious from address to reply via e-mail) |

Looking for suggestions
Well, may I humbly suggest: The Oshkosh Pool Party is July 25th this year! Be there, or be square. That would be with, ahem, FREE BEER for all pilots en route to OSH '04. (And food. And music. And swimming. And hangar lying, er, flying...) :-) -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

Well Jay, one of these years (see, I'm addicted, only been to OSH once,
going again this year, planning to go forever), either the weather is going to push us so far south we have to come through Iowa City...or...I plan a two night trip, the 2nd of which is in Iowa City...or, we fly something fast enough to make it to Iowa City in a day (and get cooperative weather). It's "worse" in terms of a more northern route this year as big brother and I head first from central California to Bend to pickup Dad. So, we're "square" this year...but definitely planning on making it to the OSH r.a.* BBQ & (good beer only) brew-fest at the Honeck campsite. -- Jack Allison PP-ASEL "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return" - Leonardo Da Vinci (Remove the obvious from address to reply via e-mail) |
