So if you have an ELT that broadcasts GPS such as the ACK-A-30-4, what is the best way to get 9400 baud to the GPS?

Hi,
I'm sorry, but your question doesn't make sense to me. You set the GPS baud rate to 9600, or you set the jumpers in the ACK ELT to use whatever baud rate your GPS uses. I sell a standard cable with GPS status light that works great with the E-04 ELT. http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/ack.h...9m-LED-12V-0.3 I have configured customer systems using a Garmin GPS 16x-HVS GPS. It worked very nice. However, ELTs aren't selling very well lately. Most sailplane pilots seem to prefer SPOT or inReach units - myself included. Your ELT install documentation should make all this clear. If its an ACK ELT it will take common garden variety inputs from lots of sources, including some you likely have already in your cockpit. |

My bad...got the models mixed up...lets start over. The correct model is ACK E-04 ELT. I guess the question comes down to is it better to provide dedicated GPS using something like a Garimin GPS 16 or split the GPS signal using the K6 Mux 2?
