== ATTENTION PILOTS ==
FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER MANCHESTER ON FRIDAY AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Manchester, New Hampshire, that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the area during President Bush's planned visit on Friday, October 1. There will be a 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary flight restriction (TFR) over Manchester, centered on the MHT VOR's 349-degree radial at 6.8 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect from 1 p.m. until 5:50 p.m. local on Friday, October 1. Also, there will be smaller 10-nm-radius GA no-fly zones in effect during that timeframe. See AOPA Online for the full text of the notam ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#4/0489 ) along with a graphic. The affected landing facilities are Manchester (MHT), Boire Field (ASH), Concord Municipal (CON), Merrimack Valley SPB (MA2), Lawrence Municipal (LWM), Hawthorne-Feather Airpark (8B1), Hampton Airfield (7B3), Jaffrey Airport-Silver Ranch (AFN), Pease International Tradeport (PSM), Plum Island (2B2), Shirley (9B4), Fitchburg Municipal (FIT), Skyhaven (DAW), Laurence G. Hanscom Field (BED), Minute Man Air Field (6B6), and Littlebrook Air Park (3B4). Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight. TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land. == HELPFUL WEB LINKS == AOPA's Real-Time Flight Planner provides graphical depictions of TFRs ( http://www.aopa.org/flight_planner/ ). Check the FAA's TFR Web site ( http://tfr.faa.gov ). Download the AOPA Air Safety Foundation's intercept procedures card ( http://download.aopa.org/epilot/2003/intercept.pdf )or review ASF's "Know Before You Go" program ( http://www.aopa.org/asf/know_before/ ). == MAKE SURE YOU'RE PROTECTED == SIGN UP FOR AOPA'S LEGAL SERVICES PLAN Because of the heavy call volume from members and the changing climate for FAA regulations and increased vigilance, we want to remind you to consider the AOPA Legal Services Plan protection.
