Default XC Soar Question

I noticed on my display there are a pair of yellow crescent chevrons that expand and contract with altitude change. I will try to attach a photo. Can anyone tell me what these are?

Here is the post, it's on facebook since I cannot attach it to this thread. . https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater.

let me know if you can't access this photo

Thank you

John
