Hey guys,
I was down at the local airport yesterday and got talking to the crew of our new regional fire/rescue helo operation when one of the crew/pilots noted that they were doing a lot of NV training so they can start fighting fires at night. Naturally I've heard of rescue and EMS type stuff after dark, but fire stuff was one of those things I thought would never happen until they brought the A10s out with water pods. The crew left in a rush to try and steal an EMS call so I didn't get to get into it much. Anyone heard of this type of thing actually becoming a reality or is this just another case of these guys searching for a mission and trying to justify their existance (which is pretty much all they're doing these days)? -Mike |
