I can remember reading somewhere, that a lot of these Neptunes were
stored at Silloth, and some were delivered to Argentina by Hughie Green, of "Opportunity Knocks" fame. He flew for Transport Command during the War. Strangely, none of this is mentioned in "Cumbria Airfields of the Second World war". Maybe it's apocryphal! Syke |
