The LS8b has a carbon fuse to allow the extra weight of the turbo engine.
Also made as a pure glider with the turbo as a later option. The LS8a has the glass fuse. Paul "Guy Acheson" wrote in message ... I own and LS-8 and I have inspected a crashed LS-8 (not mine). The fuselage is not made of carbon fiber. The fuselage is fiberglass with carbon fiber rovings along the sides of the cockpit for strength. The carbon fiber rovings are limited to the same areas that usually have the LS stripes on the sides of the cockpit. I GPS antenna mounted in the baggage area reads thru the fuselage just fine. My transponder antenna mounted in the fuselage just aft of the wheel works just fine. Guy 'DDS' |
