Hello,
Has anyone got any plans or photos or ideas for towout gear to suit a PW5. I would appreciate anything that would be helpful for ideas. Looks like I may have to make up a set for my Club. Thank you in advance. Regards Jon Dixon Beverley Soaring Society |

It is a rigid towbar that has a zigzag to clear the tailwheel . I have it and it works real well. Larry Pardue 2I |

Hi Jon,
The tail mounting tow bar is only available by special order, if at all. We have changed over to a nose mounted tow bar which works very well. It connects via the tow hook and the main-gear axle. I will send you a picture by separate/direct email. with pricing etc. As for assembly I use an 'Udo' rig which works excellently for one-man assy. Let me know if you need his web address. He advertises in Soaring and his product, while a bit pricey, is exceptional. I also have other accessories available for upgrading the Smyk with some of the B-1 PW5 improvements. Seat with integral headrest, apholstery, larg instrument panel, etc. End of advertisement! Please contact me for additional details and products. Check out MM Fabrication at http://www.mmfabrication.com
Mark makes sailplane trailers, one man rigs carts, towout bars, wing wheels, and just about anything else you can dream up around an airport. His towout rigs run on independent wheels, and don't torque the tailboom like the German designs. I know he made a tow rig for one of our local PW-5's a while back. If I remember right, it's trickier than most due to the funny tailwheel extension. If you're towing out on grass, a rope and a wing dolly are all you need.
Paved surfaces require a bit more kit. Brent "JD" wrote in message ... Hello, Has anyone got any plans or photos or ideas for towout gear to suit a PW5.
