wrote: but to use my son's expression the right wing is "munted" translation:heavily damaged Does anyone know where this word came from? I believe it is of UK origin, the common meaning being very drunk and/or drugged with "broken" being secondary. As far as I remember it sprang suddenly into existance (at least in my own consciousness as a teen in New Zealand) in the late 70's. It was certainly current amoung my younger brothers's highschool friends around 1978 or 1979 or so. My guess is it's from some TV show, or maybe song. Something like _The Young Ones_, except that was several years too late to be the origin. Maybe some ska or punk band? Any ideas? Or anyone who was using it earlier than that? -- Bruce |
