After Peter Masak's accident at Mifflin, I told the group there that
there were new technology ELT's coming out that would record and transmit GPS position as well as information on the aircraft owner and emergency phone number to call. A Canadian company is about to release their new ELT. It has a GPS buffer built in to it and will read NEMA data. It activates by G-switch or manually and is aircraft certified. It is NOT a PLB. I am trying to co-ordinate with the company regarding price and availability and will try to obtain a "glider" rate from them. I have already sent this information to the email list for Mifflin and Parowan. If any of you want to be added to the email list for information on these units, pleae email me at and I will add you to the distibution list. I do not read this user group very often, so posting here will not get to me. Brian Milner (GJ) |
